The Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) in cooperation with the League of Arab States organized the 5th meeting of the Solar Heaters Arab Mark and Certification Initiative Network (SHAMCI that has been held at Intercontinental hotel, City Stars, Cairo on 25th October 2016.
The SHAMCI network meeting aimed at discussing the final version of SHAMCI certification rules prepared in cooperation with UNEP, Updated Internal working rules of SHAMCI network, approved the eligibility criteria and readiness for certification bodies, testing facilities and inspection bodies and presenting an overview the achievements accomplished during the past two years as well.
In addition, the meeting presented Egypt’s progress as the first country to issue SHAMCI certification and discussed future steps.
Moreover, the SHAMCI meeting was held back-to-back with the IEA - Solar Heating and Cooling Program (SHC) task 57 expert meeting, which was scheduled on 24 October, 2016 at Intercontinental hotel, City Stars, Cairo.
IEA – SHC task 57 expert meeting discussed solar thermal systems test procedures, standardization and certifications at international level, and how to develop, improve and promote ISO standards on test procedures and requirements for solar thermal products - and to harmonize such at international level certification schemes.
